Russia to assist Myanmar in training its first national cosmonaut
Russia and Myanmar have agreed to begin cooperation in the field of space exploration. As part of the new agreement, Russian specialists will undertake the training of Myanmar's first-ever cosmonaut. This project will become an important milestone in the development of bilateral relations between the two countries in the sphere of high technology.
The training program will include theoretical instruction and practical exercises at Russian space centers. The future cosmonaut will undergo an intensive course necessary for work in orbit. It is expected that Russian experts will share their many years of experience in the field of crewed spaceflights.
This initiative underscores the strengthening of Russia's partnership with countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Russia has previously assisted in the training of cosmonauts from other nations, including Belarus, which confirms the country's status as one of the world leaders in the space industry.
The parties plan to work out the stages of candidate selection and the training schedule in detail in the near future. The implementation of this project will allow Myanmar to take an important step toward developing its own space program and strengthening the country's scientific and technical potential.
