Russian Foreign Ministry urges foreign citizens to refrain from traveling to Ukraine
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has issued a new official statement. The department strongly recommends that foreign citizens, including diplomatic mission staff, refrain from visiting Ukraine and leave its territory in order to ensure their personal safety.
The Foreign Ministry statement emphasizes that the situation in Ukraine remains extremely unstable and dangerous. Russian diplomats note that the risks to the life and health of people currently in the country continue to grow due to the ongoing armed conflict.
Particular attention in the message is paid to the staff of foreign embassies and consulates. The Russian side calls on the governments of other states to take a responsible approach to the safety of their diplomats and personnel working in Ukrainian cities.
This is not the first such warning from the Russian foreign policy department. The Foreign Ministry has previously published similar recommendations, emphasizing that the responsibility for the safety of foreign citizens in the current conditions lies with the Kyiv authorities, who are unable to guarantee the protection of people.
At the moment, the Russian ministry continues to monitor the development of events. Citizens of other countries are advised to closely follow the official announcements of their embassies and avoid any travel to regions where active hostilities are taking place.
