Russia creates 'Polkan' bomb-disposal robot to detect explosives
Russian engineers have unveiled a new development: a robot named "Polkan." This device is designed to operate in hazardous conditions and helps specialists detect explosive substances without putting themselves at risk.
The main feature of "Polkan" is its remote-control capability. The robot is able to independently approach suspicious objects, take samples from them, and conduct preliminary chemical analysis. All these actions are performed at a safe distance from the operator.
The use of such technologies significantly increases the safety of emergency service personnel. Thanks to its compact size and specialized sensors, the robot can work in hard-to-reach places where human presence would be too dangerous.
The developers note that "Polkan" has passed the necessary tests and is ready for practical application. It is expected that the introduction of such robots will help conduct security checks more quickly and effectively in public spaces and at critical infrastructure facilities.
