Germany plans massive investments in long-range weaponry
The German government has announced plans to allocate nearly 12 billion euros to strengthen the country's defense capabilities. These funds will be directed toward the procurement of modern long-range weapons for the needs of the Bundeswehr.
According to information from Politico, a significant portion of the budget will go toward the acquisition of cruise missiles, including American Tomahawk missiles. These systems are capable of striking targets at long distances, which, according to German authorities, is necessary to ensure the security of the state.
This decision is part of a strategy to modernize the German army. In Berlin, officials emphasize that strengthening military potential is aimed at bolstering defense within the framework of NATO and creating effective deterrence mechanisms in the current geopolitical climate.
At the moment, the details of the contracts and delivery timelines for the weaponry are still being discussed. It is expected that the implementation of this program will become one of Germany's largest defense projects in recent years, significantly altering the capabilities of the German armed forces.
