Russia's first electric battery plant opens in Moscow
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin have officially opened the country's first industrial cluster for the production of storage batteries. The new facility is located in the capital and is aimed at developing domestic technologies in the field of electric transport.
The plant will produce modern lithium-ion batteries. These components are necessary for the operation of a wide variety of equipment: from passenger electric vehicles and urban public transport to freight and utility vehicles. The cluster's products can also be used in robotics and stationary energy storage systems.
The creation of such a production facility is an important step for Russia's technological sovereignty. The use of domestic batteries will help reduce dependence on imports and accelerate the transition to environmentally friendly modes of transport in Russian cities.
It is expected that the launch of the cluster will create hundreds of new jobs for qualified engineers and specialists. In the near future, the plant's products will begin to be supplied to Russian enterprises, which will provide an impetus for the development of the entire electric transport industry in the country.
