Russians warned about the emergence of new flu strains
In Russia, specialists have recorded the emergence of new varieties of the influenza virus. According to experts, these strains differ from those that the population encountered in previous seasons, which is why many citizens do not yet have the necessary immunity to them.
The director of the Smorodintsev Research Institute of Influenza reported that the situation is under constant monitoring by scientists. The emergence of new variants of the virus is a natural process; however, the lack of immunity in the body could lead to a faster spread of the infection during the autumn-winter period.
Medical professionals remind the public that vaccination remains the best way to protect against the flu. Modern vaccines are regularly updated to account for current strains, which allows the body to prepare in advance for exposure to the virus and reduces the risk of severe complications.
In addition to vaccinations, doctors recommend following basic hygiene rules: wash hands more frequently, ventilate rooms, and avoid crowded places during periods of peak incidence. If the first symptoms of a cold appear, specialists advise staying home and seeking medical attention so as not to put others at risk.
