Russian Ministry of Health updates standards for depression treatment
The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has presented an updated standard for providing medical care to patients with depression. New procedures that were not previously used in mass clinical practice have been included in the official list of treatment methods.
Doctors will now be able to use methods such as electropuncture, transcranial magnetic brain stimulation, and laser blood irradiation. These technologies are aimed at influencing the nervous system and improving the general condition of patients suffering from various forms of depressive disorders.
Experts note that the inclusion of these methods in the state standard makes modern therapy more accessible to citizens. The use of physiotherapeutic approaches in addition to traditional drug therapy can increase the effectiveness of treatment in complex cases.
The new rules have already entered into force and will be applied in medical institutions across the country. It is expected that the introduction of these procedures will help doctors offer patients more flexible and individualized treatment plans that meet modern medical standards.
