Large-scale drone attack on Moscow: oil refinery on fire
On Sunday morning, Moscow and the Moscow region were subjected to a massive drone attack. According to officials, the targets of the attack were key infrastructure facilities in the region. This is one of the largest attempted strikes on the capital in recent times.
One of the main targets was the Moscow Oil Refinery, located in the Kapotnya district. As a result of a drone crash on the facility's territory, a fire broke out. Fire crews and rescue services promptly arrived at the scene to combat the blaze.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that air defense forces shot down several drones on their approach to the city. According to preliminary information, there is no serious damage to residential buildings. Additionally, no reports of casualties among local residents have been received at this time.
Due to the security threat, restrictions on departures and arrivals were temporarily introduced at Moscow airports. This led to the delay of dozens of flights, and some aircraft were diverted to alternate airfields in other cities. Currently, the operation of the aviation hubs is gradually returning to normal.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and assess the extent of the damage. Emergency services are working in an enhanced mode to ensure the safety of citizens and restore the stable operation of all city systems.
