New sports complex in Starodub to be named after Hero of Russia Andrey Kulakov
In the Starodub district of the Bryansk region, an important decision has been made regarding the naming of a new sports and recreation facility. A local commission has officially decreed that the complex currently under construction will be named after Hero of Russia Andrey Kulakov.
Andrey Kulakov was a renowned Russian officer whose service to the country received high state recognition. Naming the sports institution after him is intended to perpetuate the memory of the hero and inspire the younger generation of the region's residents to engage in sports and patriotic education.
The construction of the complex is part of a program to develop sports infrastructure in small Russian towns. It is expected that the new facility will become an important center of public life in Starodub, where both professional athletes and those who enjoy an active lifestyle will be able to train.
Local authorities emphasize that the choice of name for the complex is a tribute to the feat of the defender of the Fatherland. The grand opening of the facility is planned after all construction and finishing work is completed, which the district administration will announce at a later date.
