In Yekaterinburg, a tattoo artist was arrested for 10 days for Telegram posts

In Yekaterinburg, a court sentenced a local tattoo artist to ten days of administrative arrest. The reason was images that the young woman published in her Telegram channel. The court considered these publications a demonstration of symbols that are banned in Russia.

The Verkh-Isetsky District Court heard the case of tattoo artist Polina. The reason for the proceedings was images of Baphomet and an inverted five-pointed star. These symbols are often associated with occultism, but law enforcement agencies classified them as extremist materials.

Police discovered these images during social media monitoring. After her detention, the woman was brought to court, where the decision for administrative arrest was made. For ten days, she will be held in a special detention facility.

This case is not the first time citizens have been held accountable for posting certain symbols on the internet. Recently, Russian courts have begun to pay more attention to content in personal blogs and messengers if it contains controversial signs or images.

Lawyers advise internet users to be more careful with social media posts. Even if an image appears artistic or decorative, it can become a reason for legal proceedings and administrative punishment.
