Armenian authorities warn of military training camps for protest participants
The Armenian government has issued an official statement regarding citizens who have arrived in the country from Russia. The authorities warned that those seen participating in protest actions or attempting to influence political processes for compensation may be called up for mandatory military training camps.
According to information published in the media, this refers to 25-day training sessions. The authorities explain such measures by the need to maintain order and ensure security in the country. Officials emphasize that participation in such events is a legal procedure for citizens registered for military service.
This decision has caused a wide resonance in society. Many experts note that this warning is aimed at limiting political activity among relocants who have moved to Armenia over the past two years. The country's authorities have not yet provided detailed explanations on how exactly participation in protests will be tracked.
At the moment, the situation remains stable, however, human rights activists are urging citizens to be attentive to local legislation. In the near future, additional clarifications are expected from the Armenian Ministry of Defense regarding the criteria for selecting participants for the training camps.
