Proposal in Russia to extend kindergarten hours until 8:00 PM
An important initiative is being discussed in Russia that could affect millions of working parents. Deputies have proposed extending the operating hours of municipal kindergartens until 8:00 PM. Currently, most preschool institutions close earlier, which creates difficulties for citizens whose workday ends late.
The authors of the initiative note that the modern work schedule of many parents often does not coincide with the operating hours of kindergartens. Because of this, families are forced to look for additional childcare options or ask relatives for help. Extending kindergarten hours will help make life more comfortable for parents and allow them to plan their day with more peace of mind.
The proposal includes not only standard full-day groups but also other forms of childcare. In particular, it refers to short-stay groups that operate for up to 5 hours a day, as well as reduced-day groups. The project developers believe that a flexible schedule will help better adapt the education system to the needs of modern families.
At the moment, the initiative is at the discussion stage. Specialists will have to assess exactly how the work of educators will be organized in the evening and what resources will be required to implement this project. If the proposal receives support, it will be a significant step in the development of the country's social infrastructure.
