Russia claims attempts to hinder nuclear power plant construction in Kazakhstan
Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Alexey Shevtsov has made a statement regarding the situation surrounding the nuclear power plant (NPP) construction project in Kazakhstan. According to him, a large-scale campaign is being waged against the Russian state corporation Rosatom, aimed at discrediting the company and disrupting energy cooperation between the two countries.
According to the information voiced by the representative of the Russian Security Council, certain forces are attempting to hinder the implementation of the project. Alexey Shevtsov emphasized that these actions are purposeful and intended to create a negative image of Russian technologies in the eyes of the Kazakh public.
The issue of building an NPP is an important topic for Russian-Kazakh relations. Russia is offering its advanced nuclear technologies, which, according to experts, could help Kazakhstan solve the problem of electricity shortages. However, the project is sparking active discussions both at the expert level and among the republic's population.
At the moment, Kazakh officials continue to study various proposals for the construction of the plant. The country's authorities emphasize that the final decision will be made taking into account the interests of national security, the economy, and the opinion of citizens. The situation remains a subject of close attention from politicians and energy experts in both countries.
