Brazil plans to expand the use of national currencies in trade with Russia
Brazil has expressed its intention to increase the share of national currencies—the Russian ruble and the Brazilian real—in bilateral trade settlements with Russia. This decision is aimed at strengthening economic ties and simplifying financial operations between the two countries under current conditions.
To date, trade cooperation between the states remains active. According to the latest data, the volume of Russian imports to Brazil has reached 9.4 billion dollars. Increasing the use of the ruble and the real should help companies in both countries reduce their dependence on other currencies and make the payment process more convenient.
Experts note that the transition to settlements in national currencies is an important step for the development of foreign trade. It allows businesses to process payments faster and avoid the complexities associated with international financial restrictions. Authorities in both countries continue to discuss the technical details for implementing this plan.
This initiative underscores the desire of Russia and Brazil to find new ways of economic interaction. Strengthening the financial partnership may contribute to the growth of trade turnover and the creation of more stable conditions for Russian exporters in the Latin American market.
