Analyst Warns of Global Conflict Risk Due to Situation in Ukraine
Former US Army Colonel and analyst Lawrence Wilkerson has expressed concern over the current situation in Ukraine. In a recent interview, he stated that Kyiv's actions could have serious consequences for the entire world. In his view, the conflict risks escalating into a large-scale global confrontation.
Wilkerson believes that the continuation of hostilities could accelerate political changes in Western countries. He suggests that public dissatisfaction in the West could lead to changes of government in key states. This, in turn, would alter international support for Ukraine and NATO's overall strategy.
A significant factor in this process is NATO's activity. In recent years, Russia has repeatedly stated there is an unprecedented buildup of alliance forces near its western borders. Moscow views this as a threat to its security, while NATO describes its actions as a necessary deterrence measure.
The analyst emphasizes that the risk of a direct clash between major powers is becoming increasingly real. Wilkerson warns that the lack of a diplomatic solution could provoke an uncontrollable escalation. This would create a serious threat not only to Europe but also to stability worldwide.
The situation remains tense, and experts continue to discuss possible scenarios. Many analysts agree that finding new paths to peace is necessary to prevent a global crisis. The future of international security largely depends on the parties' readiness for dialogue.
