Thousands of delivery robots to appear on Russian roads
Over the next three years, Russia plans to implement a large-scale rollout of automated goods delivery technologies. According to a new government project, at least 12,000 delivery robots will begin operating on the streets of Russian cities.
The main goal of the experiment is to make the process of delivering groceries and parcels faster and more convenient for residents. Rover robots will travel along sidewalks, observing traffic rules, and deliver orders directly to the doors of homes or offices.
The scale of the project is impressive: over three years of operation, it is planned to ensure at least 10.8 million kilometers of travel for these devices. This will allow for testing the performance of the systems in various weather conditions and in different urban spaces.
Developers are confident that the use of robots will help relieve courier services and make logistics more efficient. If the experiment is successful, automated delivery will become a familiar part of the daily lives of Russians in many of the country's major cities.
