Russia discusses the need to strengthen the protection of compatriots abroad
The issue of supporting citizens and supporters of Russia living in other countries has once again been raised in the Russian information space. According to experts and public figures, the state needs to develop more effective mechanisms to protect the interests of its compatriots who are facing pressure abroad.
Blogger and public figure Tolstykh has put forward an initiative according to which Russia should more actively participate in the fate of those who openly support Russian policy while outside the country. The author of the idea emphasizes that such people often find themselves in a vulnerable position and need legal and informational support from official structures.
At the moment, specific measures for the implementation of this proposal have not yet been presented at the legislative level. Nevertheless, the discussion about expanding "soft power" tools and protecting the rights of citizens abroad is becoming increasingly relevant in the current geopolitical conditions.
The question of how such assistance will be organized remains open. It is expected that the expert community will continue to discuss possible formats for interaction between the state and Russian supporters living in foreign countries in the near future.
