Visiting rules for patients in Russian hospitals to change
Starting September 1, new operating rules for inpatient facilities will come into effect in Russian medical institutions. The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has approved an updated order concerning the conditions of patient stays and access for their relatives. These changes are aimed at making the treatment process more comfortable and transparent for citizens.
One of the key innovations is the clarification of patients' rights to receive support from loved ones. The rules now clearly regulate the procedure for relatives to stay with patients in hospital wards. This is especially important for the care of seriously ill people who require constant assistance and psychological support.
The new document also addresses issues regarding the provision of medical care under the compulsory health insurance policy (OMS). The authorities aim to ensure equal access to care for all categories of patients. Hospitals will be required to inform citizens about exactly how relatives can participate in the care process and what sanitary requirements must be observed in doing so.
Experts note that these measures will help reduce stress levels for patients undergoing long-term treatment. A clear description of the rights and responsibilities of all parties will help avoid conflicts between medical staff and patients' families, as well as make hospital stays more humane.
It is expected that after September 1, all public and private clinics will bring their internal regulations in line with the new federal requirements. Patients and their loved ones are advised to check the visiting rules at a specific medical institution in advance to avoid misunderstandings during visits.
