Russian Interior Ministry introduces new notification rules for foreign workers
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation has prepared a draft order that establishes a new notification form for foreign citizens. These changes apply to those migrants who are employed by individuals for personal, domestic, and other similar needs not related to entrepreneurial activities.
According to the proposed document, foreign workers will be required to officially notify state authorities about the commencement of their employment. This requirement is aimed at strengthening control over compliance with migration legislation and creating transparent conditions for the work of foreign citizens within the country.
It will be possible to submit the completed notification in several ways. The draft order provides for the possibility of personal submission of the document in paper form directly to an Interior Ministry unit. Options for submission through multifunctional centers (MFCs) or via electronic services are also being considered, which should simplify the procedure for citizens.
The new rules are intended to streamline the process of hiring migrants in the private sector. The document is currently in the discussion stage, after which the exact dates for the new requirements to enter into force will be established. It is expected that these measures will help make the labor market more regulated and safer for all participants.
