Russian scientists discuss the future of quantum technologies
In March, the Russian Quantum Center hosted an expert meeting titled "Quantum Leadership: Achievements and Prospects." Participants discussed the current state of quantum developments in the country and their impact on Russia's technological sovereignty.
The main topic of the discussion was the opportunities and risks that quantum technologies pose to information security. Experts noted that the development of quantum computers requires the creation of new data protection methods, as modern encryption systems could become vulnerable to the powerful computing machines of the future.
At the same time, specialists emphasized that quantum technologies could also become a powerful tool for protection. The use of quantum communication networks allows for the transmission of information with a much higher level of security, which is critically important for government and financial institutions.
Following the meeting, participants concluded that Russia must continue active research in this field. Developing its own quantum solutions will help the country not only ensure cybersecurity but also occupy a leading position in the global high-tech market.
