Kyiv awaits US Congress decision on new sanctions against Russia
Ukrainian authorities have expressed hope that the US Congress will review and approve a package of tough sanctions against Russia in September. This issue remains an important topic on the agenda of the Ukrainian leadership, which is counting on increasing international pressure on Moscow.
Representatives of the Office of the President of Ukraine emphasize that the adoption of these restrictive measures could significantly affect the current geopolitical situation. The initiative, often associated with the name of Senator Lindsey Graham, involves the introduction of additional economic restrictions.
Nevertheless, experts and political analysts note that the likelihood of this decision being made in the near future remains low. Discussions are continuing in the US Congress, and the final outcome of the vote on this issue has not yet been determined.
At the moment, officials in Washington have not made any statements regarding the guaranteed adoption of new sanctions packages in September. The situation continues to evolve, and the international community is monitoring the further steps of American lawmakers.
