Russian Defense Ministry: Contract soldier recruitment is ahead of schedule
Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov commented on the current situation regarding the staffing of the country's Armed Forces. According to him, the process of recruiting citizens for military service under contract is proceeding successfully and is even ahead of the established schedules.
In recent months, the question of possible changes to the conscription system has sparked widespread public interest. However, official representatives of the ministry emphasize that the state's current strategy relies specifically on a professional army consisting of volunteers who sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense.
Experts note that the high recruitment rates are linked to improved service conditions and a significant increase in financial compensation for contract soldiers. The state also provides military personnel and their family members with a broad package of social benefits, which makes contract service an attractive choice for many citizens.
At the moment, the authorities do not see a need to conduct additional mobilization measures. The primary focus of military commissariats remains on attracting volunteers, which allows for meeting the army's needs without changing the current legal status of citizens.
Thus, the situation in the defense sector remains stable. The Ministry of Defense continues to carry out its assigned tasks by relying on the voluntary participation of citizens and does not plan to change its approach to personnel formation in the near future.
