Turkmenistan and Russia plan to open a joint university
The authorities of Turkmenistan have confirmed their intention to continue working on the creation of a new joint educational project — the Turkmen-Russian University. This project is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and developing academic cooperation between the two countries.
The Russian side expressed gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for their active support of the Russian language. There remains a high level of interest in studying the Russian language in the country, which creates a solid foundation for launching a higher education institution where instruction will be conducted in accordance with Russian educational standards.
The establishment of the university will be an important step in the humanitarian partnership between Moscow and Ashgabat. It is expected that the new university will allow students from Turkmenistan to receive a high-quality education that meets modern international requirements and will facilitate the exchange of experience between educators from both states.
At the moment, the parties continue to discuss the details of the project, including the curricula and the infrastructure of the future campus. The implementation of this initiative underscores the desire of both countries to develop long-term cooperation in the fields of science and the training of qualified specialists.
