Changes to the composition of the regional parliament in the Pskov region are forecast by 2026
Chairman of the Pskov Regional Assembly of Deputies Alexander Kotov commented on the prospects for the political composition of the regional parliament. According to him, following the elections to be held in 2026, an increase in the representation of the United Russia party in the region's legislative body is expected.
This statement was made against the backdrop of an analysis of the current political situation in the region. The ruling party plans to strengthen its position in the local Legislative Assembly, relying on the results of the upcoming election campaign. Alexander Kotov noted that work on preparing for the elections is already underway.
An increase in the number of deputies from one party could significantly affect the process of passing regional laws and the allocation of budget funds. In the coming years, political forces will actively compete for voters' support to secure a majority in parliament.
At the moment, experts are monitoring preparations for the 2026 electoral cycle. Residents of the Pskov region will be able to evaluate the work of current deputies and make their choice during the voting, which will determine the future direction of regional legislation.
