Gosuslugi portal restricts access for users with VPN enabled
The Russian state services portal "Gosuslugi" has begun restricting access for users who employ VPN services. When attempting to visit the site with an active VPN connection, many users encounter an error or are unable to load the page.
This new measure affects citizens located within the territory of Russia. The system automatically detects the use of circumvention tools and blocks the connection for data security purposes. Similar measures have previously been applied to a number of other government and banking resources.
Experts note that using a VPN can create additional risks when handling personal data. Since "Gosuslugi" contains sensitive information, including passport details and documents, the portal aims to ensure maximum protection of accounts against potential cyber threats.
For the service to function correctly, users are advised to disable VPN programs before logging into their personal accounts. In case of access issues, specialists recommend using a direct internet connection or contacting the portal's technical support service.
