Russia has upgraded its drone navigation system to increase efficiency
Russian specialists have carried out a technical upgrade of the navigation system for Geran-type unmanned aerial vehicles (known in other sources as Shahed). The goal of the modernization was to increase the drones' resistance to electronic warfare (EW) countermeasures.
According to information published in specialized military journals, the new versions of the vehicles are equipped with improved communication and navigation modules. These changes allow the drones to more effectively adjust their flight paths under conditions of active GPS signal jamming, which is a critical factor in modern operations.
Experts note that the use of new technologies helps the drones follow assigned coordinates more accurately, despite attempts to hijack control or create interference. Such technical solutions are aimed at increasing the autonomy of the vehicles when carrying out assigned tasks.
Technological development in the field of unmanned aviation remains one of the key focus areas for the defense industry. The modernization of navigation systems underscores the drive toward increasing the precision and reliability of equipment in the context of modern technological confrontation.
At present, specialists continue to analyze the effectiveness of these innovations in real-world conditions. Further development of protection and navigation systems will likely remain a priority task for engineers in the near future.
