Sverdlovsk sambo wrestlers show outstanding results at the Spartakiad of the Peoples of Russia
Athletes from the Sverdlovsk region performed successfully at the Spartakiad of the Peoples of Russia, demonstrating a high level of skill. Following the competition, the sambo team won a total of 20 medals, which became a significant achievement for the regional team.
The delegation included both experienced athletes and young talents who competed for top spots in various weight categories. The competition was intense, as the strongest sambo wrestlers from all over the country gathered for the tournament.
Among the silver medalists were Elizaveta Khachikova, who competed in the under 54-kilogram category, and Ksenia Zadvornova, who competed in the under 72-kilogram weight class. Also stepping onto the podium were Olesya Tkachenko, who showed an excellent result in the over 80-kilogram category, and Vitaly Simakov, who became a medalist in the under 64-kilogram weight class.
The success of the Sverdlovsk athletes confirms the region's status as one of the centers for the development of sambo in Russia. The coaching staff noted that such high performance was made possible thanks to rigorous training and the systematic preparation of the athletes throughout the season.
