The 'Gosuslugi' portal has restricted access for users with VPN enabled
The popular Russian public services portal 'Gosuslugi' has begun blocking access for users who have a VPN service enabled. Now, when attempting to visit the site with an active VPN connection, users may encounter an error or be unable to log in.
This new measure affects citizens located within Russia. The system automatically detects the use of third-party services to change IP addresses and restricts the resource's functionality for data security purposes. Previously, similar measures had already been applied to a number of other government and banking online resources.
Experts note that using a VPN often slows down website performance and can create additional risks when transmitting personal information. In this regard, users are advised to disable VPN services when working with government portals to ensure stable and secure access to their personal accounts.
At this time, there have been no official comments from the Ministry of Digital Development regarding the scale of these restrictions. Users experiencing difficulties logging in are advised to use a standard internet connection without third-party tools for changing their location.
