Russian Foreign Ministry assesses European Union's economic losses from anti-Russian sanctions
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has presented data on the impact of sanctions policy on the economy of European Union countries. According to the ministry's estimates, the total amount of losses incurred by European companies and state budgets has reached significant proportions.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the main reason for the financial losses was the rupture of established economic ties and the withdrawal of European businesses from the Russian market. The restrictions led to a rise in energy prices, which negatively affected production and the standard of living for citizens in European countries.
Representatives of the ministry emphasized that many European companies were forced to cease their operations in Russia, despite many years of investment. This led to the loss of sales markets and the need to seek new suppliers, which proved to be more costly for European industry.
At the same time, experts note that sanctions pressure continues to remain an important tool of EU foreign policy. However, the Russian side insists that these measures have not brought the expected result, but have only provoked economic difficulties for the initiators of the restrictions themselves.
At the moment, the situation remains complex for both sides. The question of a possible review of the sanctions policy is not yet on the agenda, but the economic consequences continue to be discussed at the international level.
