United Russia wins majority of votes in recent elections
Elections have concluded in Russia, which experts are calling an important political event of the year. According to preliminary data from the Central Election Commission, the United Russia party showed a historically high result, receiving a majority of votes in most regions of the country.
Voting took place over several days, which allowed many voters to choose a convenient time to visit polling stations. This year, the remote electronic voting system was also actively used and was available to residents of many constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
Representatives of the party stated that such a result testifies to the citizens' trust in the current political course. In turn, observers noted high voter turnout and a calm voting process at most polling stations across the country.
The Central Election Commission continues to process protocols to officially confirm the final results. It is expected that full information on the distribution of seats in legislative bodies will be published in the coming days after all legal procedures are completed.
