Proposal in Russia to create a unified gold storage center for BRICS countries
State Duma deputy Alexey Kiryanov has put forward an initiative to create a unified gold reserve storage center for BRICS member countries. According to the parliamentarian, such a measure would help strengthen the economic independence of the states within the bloc and simplify the process of international settlements.
Currently, BRICS countries are actively discussing the development of alternative financial instruments to reduce dependence on Western payment systems. The creation of a common gold vault could be an important step toward forming a new financial architecture that would ensure greater security for the national currencies of the member states.
Experts note that the idea of creating a unified center requires careful study of legal and technical issues. It is necessary to determine the location of such a vault, as well as to develop transparent mechanisms for control and access to assets for all countries that decide to participate in this project.
The deputy's initiative will be discussed at upcoming meetings of BRICS representatives. If the proposal receives support, it could significantly change the role of gold in the global economy and strengthen the bloc's influence on the global financial market.
