Russian fuel market faces new challenges in August
In August, the Russian fuel market found itself in a difficult situation once again. Experts report the emergence of a second wave of the fuel crisis, which, according to specialists, is proving more severe than the summer supply issues.
The primary cause of the new disruptions was recent attacks on the country's oil infrastructure. Damage to production facilities led to a reduction in oil refining volumes, which immediately affected fuel availability in various regions.
The situation has also been complicated by seasonal factors. At the end of summer, demand for petroleum products traditionally rises due to active agricultural work and the vacation period, when many Russians travel by car.
Currently, relevant government agencies and oil companies are working to stabilize the situation. Authorities are taking measures to ensure uninterrupted supplies of gasoline and diesel fuel to the domestic market and to prevent shortages at gas stations.
