Russia to begin free HPV vaccinations for girls
The Russian Ministry of Health plans to expand its mandatory vaccination program. According to new data, a vaccine against the human papillomavirus (HPV) will be included in the National Preventive Vaccination Calendar in 2027.
The human papillomavirus is one of the most common infections in the world. Certain types of this virus can cause serious diseases, including oncological processes. Doctors emphasize that vaccination is the most effective way to protect the body from the dangerous consequences of the infection.
It is planned that the vaccinations will be provided to adolescent girls free of charge. Including the vaccine in the national calendar means that the state will cover the costs of purchasing the drugs and organizing the immunization process in schools and clinics across the country.
Experts note that preparations for mass vaccination will take some time. Between now and 2027, specialists must resolve logistics issues, ensure the supply of the necessary number of doses, and conduct informational outreach among parents.
This measure is aimed at improving the health of future generations and reducing the incidence of disease in Russia. In the coming years, the Ministry of Health will continue its work on implementing this important medical project.
