Forecasters predict an abnormally warm winter in Russia
The upcoming winter across most of Russia may turn out to be significantly warmer than usual. According to meteorologists' forecasts, the average air temperature in the coming months will exceed the climatic norm by three to four degrees.
Experts cite the natural phenomenon El Niño as the main reason for these changes. This is a process in which the water surface temperature in the equatorial part of the Pacific Ocean rises, which influences the climate worldwide, including in Russian regions.
Despite the fact that the winter promises to be mild, experts remind us that abnormal warmth does not exclude short-term periods of severe frost. Winter weather is often changeable, so residents of the country should keep an eye on the latest forecasts from meteorologists.
Such temperature deviations have been becoming more frequent in recent years. Scientists continue to study the impact of global climatic processes on the weather in Russia in order to more accurately predict possible changes in the future.
