New data on Western technology supplies for the Vostok Oil project
The Russian oil and gas project "Vostok Oil," which is being implemented by the company Rosneft, continues to receive equipment and technology from Western countries. Despite current international sanctions, a journalistic investigation has shown that supply chains for the large-scale Arctic project remain active.
According to the published data, various intermediaries are involved in the supply schemes. Among the companies receiving major service contracts for the project, experts highlighted an organization called "Arktida." Journalists note that Marat Kabaev, the father of Alina Kabaeva, turned out to be among the beneficiaries of this company.
The Vostok Oil project is one of Rosneft's most ambitious plans for developing deposits in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Extracting oil in Arctic conditions requires complex engineering solutions and specialized machinery, much of which is produced in Europe and the United States.
The report emphasizes that Western technologies are reaching Russia through intermediary countries. This allows work on the project's infrastructure to continue despite the restrictions imposed after the start of the conflict in Ukraine. Official representatives of the contractor companies have not yet commented on this information.
The situation surrounding Vostok Oil is attracting the attention of international analysts who are monitoring the effectiveness of the sanctions regime. The question of how exactly these technologies are bypassing export controls remains a subject of discussion within the expert community.
