Russian assets of French company Aptar placed under temporary management
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree under which the assets of the Russian division of the French company Aptar are being placed under temporary state management. The company in question is Aptar Vladimir, which specializes in the production of packaging for cosmetics and pharmaceutical products.
According to the new document, the management of the assets is being transferred to the Federal Agency for State Property Management (Rosimushchestvo). This decision means that the company's owners temporarily lose the right to make management decisions and dispose of their property within Russia.
Such measures regarding foreign companies operating in Russia are not being applied for the first time. Previously, the assets of other major international corporations in the energy and food sectors have also been placed under temporary state management. Authorities explain these steps as necessary to ensure the stable operation of enterprises and to protect the country's economic interests.
Aptar is a major international manufacturer of packaging solutions. The plant in the Vladimir region was an important part of their production network. At the moment, company representatives have not provided official comments regarding how this decision will affect the future operations of the enterprise and its employees.
Experts note that the transfer of assets to external management does not mean confiscation or full nationalization of property. Nevertheless, it significantly changes the status of foreign companies in Russia and highlights the current economic situation, in which many international brands are forced to reconsider their plans for operating in the Russian market.
