A Quarter of Russian Hotels Now Accept Guests with Pets

Domestic tourism is rapidly growing in popularity in Russia. Along with this, travelers' requirements are changing: more and more people want to take their pets on trips. According to the latest data, the hotel business in the country is actively adapting to these new demands.

Today, about a quarter of all Russian hotels are ready to accept guests with animals. This is approximately 9,860 properties out of nearly 40,000 officially registered hotels in the country. Such statistics show that the hospitality industry is becoming more open and friendly to cat and dog owners.

Experts note that the demand for "pet-friendly" services is constantly increasing. Previously, pet owners often had to leave their pets in special pet hotels or with acquaintances. Now, many hotels offer not just permission to stay, but also additional amenities: food bowls, beds, and even special walking areas.

Most often, such conditions can be found in large cities and popular tourist centers, such as Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Kazan. However, before booking, tourists are recommended to always clarify the rules of a specific location. Some hotels may charge an additional fee for room cleaning or have restrictions on the animal's weight and breed.

The development of infrastructure for traveling with animals makes trips around Russia more accessible and comfortable for families. It is expected that in the coming years, the number of such hotels will only grow, following global trends and the needs of Russian tourists.
