Russia has shifted almost all foreign trade settlements to national currencies
Russia continues to actively change its system of international financial operations. According to the latest data, 89 percent of all settlements for the country's foreign trade transactions are now conducted in national currencies. This means that Russian companies are increasingly moving away from using the dollar and the euro to pay for goods and services with foreign partners.
The shift to settlements in rubles, yuan, and other currencies of friendly nations has become a response to the changing geopolitical situation. Moving away from the use of Western currencies helps Russian businesses reduce risks associated with restrictions in the international banking system and makes trade operations more stable.
Experts note that this strategy allows Russia to strengthen economic ties with partners in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The use of national currencies simplifies the money transfer process and makes trade more independent from the decisions of Western financial institutions.
In the future, the share of settlements in national currencies may grow even further. Russian authorities and financial organizations continue to work on creating new mechanisms that will allow payments to be made quickly and securely without the involvement of the dollar and the euro.
Thus, the Russian economy is successfully adapting to new conditions in the global market. The transition to alternative currencies has become an important step in ensuring the country's financial sovereignty under current conditions.
