USE Results Are Valid for Four Years: What Applicants Need to Know
Every year, thousands of Russian schoolchildren take the Unified State Exam (EGE). This is an important stage for those who want to continue their education at a university. However, not everyone knows how long the scores obtained can be used for admission to higher education institutions.
According to Russian legislation, EGE results are valid for four years following the year of the exam. This means that if a student took the exam in 2024, they can use their scores until the end of 2028. Thus, applicants have enough time to choose a suitable university or take a break from their studies.
Lawyer Elena Pavlova confirmed that this rule applies to bachelor's and specialist programs. She noted that universities are required to accept exam results throughout this period. Such a system gives young people more flexibility and reduces stress levels, as they do not need to retake difficult subjects every year.
If a graduate is dissatisfied with their results, they have the right to retake the exam in the future. In this case, when applying, they can choose the best result from all valid ones. For example, if the scores were higher the second time, the applicant can provide those specifically to the admissions committee.
Knowing the rules for university admission helps graduates plan their future better. The four-year validity period of EGE results allows young people to take a conscious approach to choosing a profession and successfully begin their educational journey.
