The Federal Tax Service of Russia has clarified the rules for obtaining tax deductions for citizens
The Federal Tax Service (FTS) of Russia has published answers to the most frequently asked questions from citizens regarding the receipt of tax deductions. These payments allow for the recovery of a portion of money spent on essential needs, such as purchasing housing, medical treatment, or education. The agency emphasized that the documentation process has become simpler thanks to digital services.
Primary attention in the clarifications is given to the deadlines for submitting declarations and the necessary documents. Taxpayers can receive a deduction if they are officially employed and pay personal income tax (NDFL). It is important to remember that the refund amount cannot exceed the amount of tax that the individual paid into the budget during the year.
FTS specialists reminded that it is no longer necessary to collect a large number of paper certificates to process a deduction. The tax service receives most of the data automatically through the interdepartmental interaction system. Users simply need to log in to the "Taxpayer's Personal Account" on the agency's official website and fill out an electronic form.
The agency also clarified the rules for those who wish to receive a deduction for education or medical services. Now, it is sufficient to provide the contract and receipts confirming payment. If a taxpayer encounters difficulties, they can always contact the tax office at their place of residence or use the online consultation service on the FTS portal.
The new recommendations are intended to help Russians recover their funds faster and more easily. The tax service advises carefully checking data before submitting an application to avoid errors and speed up the document verification process.
