Russia and Ukraine conduct prisoner exchange on Belarusian territory
Russia and Ukraine have conducted another prisoner exchange. The procedure took place on the territory of Belarus, which often acts as a neutral venue for such humanitarian missions.
During the exchange, the parties adhered to a "10 for 10" formula. This means that ten Ukrainian citizens were handed over to representatives of Kyiv, and an equal number of Russian citizens returned to their homeland.
Conducting such exchanges requires complex preliminary preparation and the participation of intermediaries. This is not the first time Belarus has provided its territory for the organization of such meetings, which allows the parties to the conflict to maintain a dialogue on humanitarian issues.
At this moment, the official agencies of both countries have confirmed that the exchange has been completed. The returned citizens are undergoing medical examinations and receiving necessary assistance following their time in captivity.
This exchange has become another step in the process of bringing people home. The international community continues to monitor the development of the situation, hoping for the continuation of such humanitarian initiatives in the future.
