Analysts forecast a decline in Russia's grain harvest in 2026

The SovEcon analytical center has presented an updated forecast for grain crop harvests in Russia for 2026. According to the latest data from experts, the expected harvest figures have been revised downward due to a number of factors affecting the agricultural sector.

In particular, specialists have lowered their forecast for barley production. It is expected that the volume of this crop will reach 19.2 million tons, whereas 19.5 million tons had been previously projected. Expectations for the corn harvest have also decreased significantly: the forecast was lowered from 15.2 million to 14.1 million tons.

The revision of forecasts affects not only individual crops but also the total production volume of all grains in the country. Experts note that such changes reflect current difficulties in the agricultural industry, which may impact the performance of the upcoming season.

Despite the decline in expected volumes, Russia remains one of the key players in the global grain market. Specialists continue to monitor weather conditions and other economic factors that may adjust the final harvest results in the coming months.
