The popular Russian public services portal 'Gosuslugi' has begun blocking access for users who utilize VPN services. Now, when attempting to visit the site with a secure connection enabled, users encounter technical errors or are unable to load the page.
This new measure applies to citizens located within Russia. The system automatically detects the use of third-party tools to change IP addresses and restricts the service's functionality for data security purposes. Similar measures have previously been applied to several other Russian resources.
Experts note that using a VPN often slows down government websites or makes them inaccessible due to traffic routing characteristics. For the portal to function correctly, specialists recommend disabling VPN services before logging into your personal account.
At this time, there have been no official comments from the Ministry of Digital Development regarding the permanent nature of this blocking. Users are advised to use a direct internet connection to access public services and pay bills.
