In the Arctic, a hospital offers fuel in exchange for a medical check-up
In one of the regions of the Russian Arctic, a local hospital has found an unusual way to draw residents' attention to reproductive health issues. Amidst an ongoing fuel crisis, the medical facility has begun issuing fuel cards worth 1,000 rubles to all patients who undergo a free preventive check-up.
The situation regarding the availability of gasoline and diesel fuel in several regions of Russia has remained tense for the second month now. Rising prices and supply disruptions at gas stations are creating serious difficulties for motorists, especially in northern areas where personal transport is the primary means of traveling long distances.
The hospital's initiative is aimed at combining the solution to a social problem with the care for citizens' health. According to the organizers of the campaign, such a measure will help not only to support local residents during a difficult period but also to increase the level of early disease diagnosis among the population.
At the moment, the campaign is generating significant interest among the region's residents. Authorities and experts continue to monitor the development of the situation in the fuel market, hoping for a stabilization of prices and supplies in the near future.
