The popular Russian public services portal "Gosuslugi" has begun restricting access for users who employ VPN services. Now, when attempting to visit the site with a secure connection enabled, users may encounter difficulties opening pages or logging into their personal accounts.
This measure is aimed at enhancing the security of citizens' data. According to representatives of the service, using a VPN can create additional risks for the protection of personal information, as traffic passes through third-party servers. Consequently, the system automatically blocks suspicious connections.
Many users have already noticed changes in the site's operation. For correct access to public services, paying fines, or booking doctor appointments, specialists recommend disabling VPN services before logging into the portal. Otherwise, the site may display an error or require additional identity verification.
At this moment, there have been no official announcements regarding a total ban on using VPNs to access public services, although technical restrictions are becoming increasingly noticeable. Users are advised to use a direct internet connection for stable operation with government services.
