Rosatom to assist Armenia in cleaning up the former Nairit plant site
The Russian state corporation Rosatom has expressed its readiness to assist Armenia in addressing environmental issues. The company's specialists plan to carry out work on the disposal and neutralization of hazardous waste at the site of the former Nairit chemical plant in Yerevan.
The Nairit plant was one of the largest chemical enterprises in the region, but it has not been operational for many years. A large quantity of chemical substances has accumulated on its premises, posing a potential threat to the city's environment and the health of local residents.
According to official data, Russian experts possess the necessary technologies and experience to carry out such work. Rosatom stated that it is capable of completing the site cleanup task in the shortest possible time, while ensuring the complete safety of the process.
This project is an important step in strengthening cooperation between Russia and Armenia in the field of environmental protection. It is expected that once the work is completed, the hazardous areas will be fully neutralized, which will help improve the environmental situation in the Armenian capital.
