Switzerland to allocate funds for the restoration of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra
The Swiss government has announced a decision to allocate financial aid in the amount of 730,000 dollars. These funds will be directed toward the preservation and restoration of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which is one of the most important historical and cultural monuments in Ukraine.
According to official data, the architectural complex sustained serious damage as a result of shelling that occurred on June 15. Swiss authorities emphasized the importance of protecting cultural heritage sites that are of global significance and are under UNESCO protection.
The allocated money will go toward carrying out repair work and strengthening the structures of the buildings damaged by the strikes. Specialists plan to begin restoration in the near future to prevent further destruction of the historical structures.
The Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra was founded in the 11th century and has remained a significant center for many believers and historians for centuries. International support will help preserve the unique architecture of this complex for future generations.
