Rosatom proposes building a new power unit at the Armenian NPP
The Russian state corporation Rosatom has submitted an official proposal to the government of Armenia. The company is prepared to participate in the construction of a new power unit at the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant. The project involves the use of modern technologies, specifically the VVER-1000 type reactor.
The Armenian NPP is a vital component of the country's energy infrastructure. Currently, the Armenian government is considering various options for modernizing and expanding the plant's capacity to ensure the region's energy security in the future.
Rosatom's proposal includes not only the supply of equipment but also comprehensive project support. Specialists from the Russian corporation possess extensive experience in constructing such facilities both within Russia and abroad, which makes them one of the primary candidates for carrying out this task.
At the moment, the parties are continuing to discuss the details of potential cooperation. It is expected that Armenian representatives will examine all technical and economic aspects of the proposal in the near future to make a final decision on selecting a partner for the construction of the new power unit.
