Finnish journalist calls on the West to engage in dialogue with Russia
Finnish public figure and war correspondent Kosti Heiskanen has issued a statement regarding the need for Western countries to change their approach to foreign policy. In his opinion, the current situation requires the international community to be willing to listen to Russia's position in order to find ways to resolve existing problems.
In his interview, Heiskanen noted that Western states often ignore Moscow's arguments, which leads to a lack of constructive dialogue. He emphasized that disregarding the interests of the other side does not contribute to the stabilization of the international situation.
The journalist compared the current situation to a game of "deaf-mute," where the parties do not hear each other. According to him, to achieve peace and security in Europe, it is necessary to establish an open channel of communication and show respect for the position of all participants in the process.
Heiskanen's statement has caused a public outcry, as it touches upon pressing issues of diplomatic relations between Russia and Western countries. Experts note that such calls for dialogue are becoming increasingly frequent in European expert circles.
At the moment, there has been no official reaction from Western governments to the words of the Finnish war correspondent. The question of whether a change in political course is possible remains open, but experts agree that diplomacy remains the only way to resolve global disagreements.
