A jeweler in Brussels is kidnapped and forced to open the safe
A jeweler in the Anderlecht area of Brussels survived a violent 'tiger' style kidnapping after criminals threatened him and his family to steal jewelry from his store on Weyezstraat, the main shopping street.
The robbery occurred on Wednesday evening. When the jeweler, Mustafa, returned home, he found a truck with four armed men waiting for him in the underground parking lot. Two were carrying pistols, another had a taser, and the fourth had an automatic Kalashnikov.
The gang forced Mustafa to accompany them while they threatened his family. They demanded he open the safe in his store, targeting gold and silver, threatening to harm his family if he did not comply with their orders.
After compliance, Mustafa was beaten, lost consciousness, tied up, and left in his store. Later, he was freed by a neighbor. He sustained injuries to his forehead and right eye, and the police took him to the hospital.
The incident left Mustafa and his family in a state of severe shock. Despite the shock, he plans to continue working in his store. The federal judicial police are investigating the incident, while the public prosecutor's office has not yet confirmed whether it has opened an official investigation.
